Established as True North Kayak Adventures in 1992, the company grew slowly from a fleet of 8 kayaks to the present True North Adventures. We offer kayak trips, SUP trips and two water taxis to provide adventurers access to the Alaskan wilderness inaccessible by road.
Alison O’Hara one of the original True North founders likes to guide kayak trips and is busy developing exciting new adventures. In the winter she is a nordic ski coach, is an active member of the Homer Women’s Nordic Ski Team and sneaks off to the tropics occasionally. She holds a USCG Master’s License and has completed the British Canoe Union 4 Star training.
Alan Parks is a retired commercial fisherman of 38 years. He brings many years of boating experience and his tales of being at sea to True North as our principal water taxi captain. Alan has a USCG Master's License and a great knowledge of Alaskan waters.
Teenagers Hoxie, Ella and Katia also help out in the office, on the boat and assistant guiding. Please don't hesitate to be in touch if you have any questions!
