TRUE NORTH KAYAK ADVENTURES

Ended up with a 3/4 day kayak with Alison, who was excellent. She has incredible local knowledge and gossip too! She is an experienced kayaker and gave great instruction re:operation and safety. The bay is so beautiful, we encountered otters and dolphins ( or is it porpoises? Allison help!) and many bird species. It was an enjoyable experience. Thank you for the great AK adventure!

True North knows how to get someone out on the bay and lead them into activities and areas that one would not know of on their own. They can take you on a tour of the bay on their water taxi, transport you to and from to hiking trails in the Katchemak Bay State Park, guide you on a variety of kayak trips near Yukon Island or even rent you kayaks if you know what you are doing and are familiar with the unique weather patterns of the bay.

We had a wonderful time kayaking in Kachemak Bay. Kelsey was our guide and she was great in explaining things to us; the animals we saw (eagles and otters), bull kelp that was floating everywhere, and the beautiful volcano we saw across the water. It was a 2 hour paddle that my daughter (13) said was the best part of her vacation. A must do!

I did the 3/4 kayaking trip. A water taxi delivered us to Yukon Island. We spent the day circling the island. We saw bald eagles, sea otters, jellyfish, an add more. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. A great way to see more of Katchemak Bay.

Our Sierra Club group spent four days with True North, hiking and kayaking. They were fantastic! They are all knowledgeable and welcoming. It's clear that they love their jobs and love sharing their wonderful Alaska environment with visitors. And, of course, Nico was an adorable mascot! Thank you, Alison, and everyone else!
